AGRICULTURE KNOWLEDGE CENTRE BULLETIN: HELP AVAILABLE FOR LIVESTOCK PRODUCERS

Released on August 18, 2006

Due to varied growing conditions in 2006, some areas of the province are experiencing lower than normal supplies of livestock feed. Saskatchewan Agriculture and Food maintains a service that puts producers, who require livestock feed, in touch with those who have surplus stock.

The Feed Grain and Forage Listing Service provides a link between forage and feed buyers and sellers. The service also provides a benefit to custom grazing and feeding operations, as well as custom baling, trucking and custom combine operators.

To advertise or browse the products available, visit www.agr.gov.sk.ca and click on "Feed Grain and Forage Listing." Listings are categorized by product and service type, as well as location. An interactive map can help locate products in your area. In addition, a complete print-out is also available for the entire province. Listings are posted for 30 days unless otherwise specified by the client.

If you do not have internet access, call the Agriculture Knowledge Centre at 1-866-457-2377. Resource agents will take the information and post the items on your behalf, or provide you with a copy of the listing by fax or mail.
