Lieutenant Governor Lynda Haverstock will present the Saskatchewan Protective Services Medal to 12 recipients in Regina at a special event this evening at Government House.The medal recognizes individuals who have 25 years of exemplary service protecting the people of Saskatchewan or their property. This can be in a volunteer or career capacity.
"Working in the protective service field requires a special kind of commitment. It is important to recognize individuals who have dedicated much of their lives to protect people and property in our province," Provincial Secretary Glenn Hagel said. "I am pleased that we have the Saskatchewan Protective Services Medal as a way to honour people for the work they do to enhance the sense of safety and security felt by Saskatchewan people."
Individuals receiving the Saskatchewan Protective Services Medal include:
• RCMP members from Rosetown and Lloydminster;
• a municipal police officer from Saskatoon;
• fire protection personnel from Warman and Regina;
• Canadian Forces members from Regina; and
• personnel from Saskatchewan Environment, Saskatchewan Highways and Transportation, Canada Border Services Agency, Saskatchewan Paramedic Association and Correctional Service Canada.
