FALL 2005 LEGISLATIVE SESSION

Released on October 3, 2005

Premier Lorne Calvert today announced the opening of the second sitting of the twenty-fifth Saskatchewan Legislature will commence with a Speech from the Throne on Monday, November 7th, 2005.

"The Throne Speech will outline a vision for the next century, building upon the successes of the past and the hopes and dreams of the future," Calvert said. "It is important to capture the great sense of momentum, and capitalize on the strong economic growth we are witnessing this centennial year. We will continue to work with Saskatchewan people to create a province that is the best place to live, work and raise our families."

The government's legislative agenda for the upcoming session is currently being finalized.

Calvert also announced the swearing in of Len Taylor as Government House Leader. Taylor takes over these duties from Harry Van Mulligen.

"I take the opportunity to thank Harry for his excellent leadership in this role as government house leader," Calvert said. "I know that Len will build upon the solid foundation that Harry has provided and bring his invaluable experience to the position."
