A recent survey of youth in Saskatchewan shows that over 75 per cent intend to stay here, as long as they can find good jobs. This view is reflected in a Culture, Youth and Recreation poll released today as part of the government's release of third quarter polling results. Just over one thousand Saskatchewan youth were surveyed, in addition to smaller surveys of Alberta youth and northern youth."As a government, we are very serious about listening to youth and we will be considering the survey results closely along with the results of the recent Centennial Summit," Culture, Youth and Recreation Minister Joan Beatty said. "Youth have reason to have confidence in their future here as Saskatchewan continues to experience sound economic and job growth."
The Saskatchewan component of the survey results are accurate within a range of plus or minus 3.1 per cent.
A survey on Shand Greenhouse was also released. It tests public awareness of the greenhouse, which has more than doubled over the past year, to 41 per cent. The survey results help inform communications efforts relating to the greenhouse. In keeping with SaskPower's commitment to environmental stewardship, the greenhouse operates on waste heat generated by the Shand Power Station in Estevan. Since opening in 1991, the greenhouse has grown millions of trees, grass and shrub seedlings for use in environmental, conservation and land reclamation projects across the province.

No omnibus polling was conducted from October through December of 2004. The next quarterly polling report will be made available in April 2005, covering the period of January through March 2005.
