CHRISTMAS MESSAGE FROM BRAD WALL LEADER OF THE OFFICIAL OPPOSITION

Released on December 7, 2005

Christmas is a time of hope. This season fills each and every one of us with a reservoir of hope we can draw upon in the year ahead. Christmas reminds us why life is always special and sacred.

While we look back on 2005, our Centennial year, and recall the indelible memories of time spent in celebration with loved ones...historians will look back on 2005 and see many stories of great human suffering and natural disaster. And for those who suffered in the year now ending, let them serve as a reminder and an inspiration to us; inspiring us with examples of the strength of the human spirit; a reminder that we all have an obligation to help and serve those in our world who are less fortunate than we are.

The very Christ that is at the heart of Christmas said: "For when I was hungry, you gave me food. And when I was thirsty you gave me drink, I was a stranger and you made me welcome, lacking clothes and you clothed me, sick and you visited me, in prison and you came to see me. In so far as you did this to one of the least of these brothers of mine, you did it to me."

Let us all be reminded of these words this Christmas and of this seasons simple truth, "that unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given....and his name shall be called Wonderful, Councellor, Mighty God, Prince of Peace."

On behalf of my wife Tami, our children Megan, Colter and Faith, and on behalf of all of the families who make up the Saskatchewan Party, I wish you many blessings in this Christmas season and a happy and prosperous 2006.

Merry Christmas.
