NEW STORE IMPROVES SERVICE FOR ESTEVAN CUSTOMERS

Released on December 5, 2005

A new liquor store in Estevan officially opened today with improved customer service for local residents.

Minister responsible for the Saskatchewan Liquor and Gaming Authority (SLGA) Eric Cline and representatives from the City of Estevan cut the ribbon to officially open the store located in the Estevan Shoppers Mall parking lot.

"This new store improves service for our customers," Cline said. "It's a modern building that provides a more spacious shopping environment with improved product selection."

The $1.2 million store also represents a significant capital investment in the community.

The new store features approximately 10,000 square feet of expanded modern retail space, 260 additional products, improved access and more parking for customers. The old store is now closed and all staff have moved to the new location.

"We're very pleased to make this kind of capital investment in Estevan," Cline said. "Customers want to shop in modern, attractive retail environments. The revitalization of SLGA's stores ensures that we are meeting the needs of customers."

Hours of operation at the new store will remain 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Saturday, 10:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. Thursday and Friday and noon to 5:00 p.m. on Sunday.
