MOLSON PRICES TO INCREASE

Released on October 15, 2004

Molson Breweries has requested and has been granted a price increase for its products sold in Saskatchewan.

Molson products will cost 40 cents more per dozen in Saskatchewan, effective November 7th, 2004. The request was approved by the Saskatchewan Liquor & Gaming Authority (SLGA).

The resulting price for one dozen bottled Molson beer products will be $18.95, an increase of approximately two per cent.

Of the 40 cents per dozen increase, Molson will receive 18 cents; SLGA will receive 16 cents; and six cents is a result of the taxes generated on the increase.

Even with the increase, the average retail price for one dozen bottled beer in Saskatchewan will be lower than Newfoundland and Labrador, Quebec, Alberta, Ontario and British Columbia.
