SASKENERGY PRESIDENT NAMED

Released on November 26, 2004

Premier Lorne Calvert announced today the appointment of Doug Kelln, P. Eng., as President and CEO of SaskEnergy, effective immediately.

"I am pleased to announce the appointment of a long-time SaskEnergy employee and executive to this position," Calvert said. "Mr. Kelln is very knowledgeable about the gas business and we are confident in his ability to lead the corporation in the years ahead."

Kelln received his Bachelor of Civil Engineering degree from the University of Saskatchewan in 1982. He then joined SaskPower, working in Gas Engineering until 1988. From 1988 to 1997 he held various positions at TransGas, including Vice-President. He has been Senior Vice President, Distribution Utility for SaskEnergy since 1997.

The CEO search committee was led by Heather Heavin, Vice-Chair of SaskEnergy's Board of Directors. The committee included Board Chair Merv Simon and other members of the Board of Directors, as well as Tom Waller, President of Crown Investments Corporation (CIC).

"Mr. Kelln brings a wealth of company experience and industry knowledge to this position, as well as the respect of those who have worked with him over the years," Heavin said. "The Board of Directors looks forward to working with him as he embarks on this new challenge in his distinguished career at SaskEnergy."

"I would like to thank Dean Reeve for serving as Acting President and CEO since June," Waller said. "He has done an excellent job of leading the organization and its employees through this challenging transition period."
