David Bindle from Saskatoon is the successful recipient of the 2004 Library Education Bursary. The annual $5,000 bursary offers funding to a student enrolled or accepted in a Master of Library and Information Science (MLS) program, or equivalent, who will live and work in Saskatchewan for at least two years after graduating."I'm absolutely thrilled to receive this bursary. Working full time, being a full time student and a full time dad to six kids gets more than a little complicated at times," Bindle said. "This bursary will make a significant difference in helping me finish the Masters in Library and Information Science degree. I'm looking forward to pursuing a new career in librarianship here at home in Saskatchewan. Thank you to the Saskatchewan Library Association, Saskatchewan Learning, and the Multitype Library Board for making this bursary possible."
"The bursary was designed to recruit and retain professional librarians in Saskatchewan," Multitype Library Board Chair Frank Winter said. "This bursary program is an excellent example of Saskatchewan libraries working together to reach common goals. We wish David well in his studies and best wishes in his future career."

The bursary is established through the partnership between Saskatchewan Learning, the Saskatchewan Library Association and the Multitype Library Board.
