SASKATCHEWAN GAMING CORPORATION PRESIDENT NAMED

Premier Lorne Calvert announced today the appointment of Marty Klyne as President and CEO of the Saskatchewan Gaming Corporation effective December 1st.

"Mr. Klyne brings to the corporation excellent skills," Calvert said. "His leadership abilities will add another dimension to an already well-run corporation and his record of community involvement complements his business skills."

Mr. Klyne has been active in the Regina business community throughout his career, and has worked with government at both the provincial and national levels. He has served as the Vice-Chair of the Board of Directors for SaskPower. He was the President of Regina's 2003 Grey Cup event. Prior to that, he was the President and CEO of the Regina Regional Economic Development Authority for five years. Mr. Klyne is also the owner of Maaco Auto Painting and Bodyworks, Regina.

Mr. Klyne has also been very active in the development of business opportunities for First Nations and Métis people. He has most recently served as the Chairperson of the National Aboriginal Development Board, Ottawa and on the Entrepreneurship and Small Business Program Advisory Committee at SIAST. He previously served as President and Chief Executive Officer of Sasknative Economic Development Corporation and has served on numerous other boards in Regina.

Mr. Klyne grew up in Regina and is a graduate of the University of Regina.
