LONG SERVICE AWARD FOR FIVE VOLUNTEERS

Community Resources and Employment Minister Joanne Crofford announced that five volunteers with various community housing authorities are being recognized for long term volunteer service.

"As volunteers these people have demonstrated dedication and sensitivity to the needs of their communities," Crofford said. "The province's housing network depends on the selflessness and dedication of its volunteers. Today we congratulate four people who have given 25 years and one who has given 30 years of volunteer time."

The recipients being honoured are:
- Julie Gerwing, Lake Lenore Housing Authority, 30 years;
- Larry Shaw, Morse Housing Authority, 25 years;
- Eva Wishnevetski, Kamsack Housing Authority, 25 years;
- James Dushire, Wilkie Housing Authority, 25 years;
- Donna Selinger, Lampman Housing Authority, 25 years;

Saskatchewan's network of 280 housing authorities rely on nearly 1,500 volunteers who manage the province's social and affordable housing programs for seniors, families and people with disabilities.
