A Saskatoon man has been honoured for 10 years of volunteer service as a board member of the Saskatoon Housing Authority.
Ian Wilkinson received a certificate of recognition and a commemorative pin recognizing his 10 years of volunteer service. Industry and Resources Minister and Saskatoon Massey Place MLA Eric Cline presented the certificate on behalf of Community Resources and Employment Minister Joanne Crofford.
"The province's network of 280 housing authorities depends on the selflessness and dedication of volunteers like Ian Wilkinson," Cline said. "For an entire decade Mr. Wilkinson has helped make his province and his community a better place to live by his commitment to social housing."
Mr. Wilkinson continues to serve on the board of directors of the Saskatoon Housing Authority as Chairperson, and is one of more than 1,500 housing authority volunteers across Saskatchewan. The Saskatoon Housing Authority Board manages more than 2,500 housing units within Saskatoon.
Housing authorities are community-based organizations that manage the province's social and affordable housing for seniors, families and persons with disabilities.
