An Esterhazy citizen has been honoured for 10 years of volunteer service as a board member of the Esterhazy Housing Authority.
Juline Hande received a certificate of recognition and a commemorative pin recognizing her 10 years of volunteer service. Community Resources and Employment Minister Glenn Hagel, who appoints the province's housing authority volunteers was in Esterhazy to extend congratulations.
"The province's network of 280 housing authorities depends on the selflessness and dedication of volunteers like Juline Hande," Hagel said. "For an entire decade Ms. Hande has helped make her province and her community and area a better place to live by her commitment to social housing."
Ms. Hande continues to serve as chair of the Esterhazy Housing Authority, and is one of more than 1,500 housing authority volunteers across Saskatchewan. The Esterhazy Board manages more than 100 housing units in the community.
Housing authorities are community-based organizations that manage the province's social and affordable housing for seniors, families and persons with disabilities.
