Paradise Hill area citizens now have an expanded fire hall thanks to a contribution from the province's Centenary Fund.The province contributed $20,000 toward the cost of the $40,000 expansion. The 2,660 square foot facility is large enough to house three fire trucks as well as training and meeting rooms. The Paradise Hill Volunteer Fire Department serves residents of Paradise Hill and the surrounding area.
"This new fire hall is an excellent example of the diverse ways that Saskatchewan people are partnering with government to build on the excellent quality of life in Saskatchewan," Crown Investments Corporation Minister Maynard Sonntag said on behalf of Government Relations Minister Ron Osika. "The Government of Saskatchewan is pleased to support this project which will enhance the safety and well-being of the people of the Paradise Hill area."
"We are pleased to be able to offer our dedicated volunteer fire department members an improved and expanded facility," Paradise Hill Mayor Alvin Form said. "We are grateful for the support of the Centenary Fund, which made this expansion possible."
"The RM of Frenchman Butte is pleased to have participated with our partners, the Village of Paradise Hill and the provincial government, in the construction of a fire hall which will serve the fire safety needs of our citizens for many years to come," Reeve Fred Fitch said. "It is a definite asset to our community."
The Centenary Fund was set up to leave a legacy of Saskatchewan's Centennial for future generations. Leading up to the centennial celebrations in 2005, the government is funding projects that are of provincial or regional interest and develop municipal infrastructure.
