CONSUMERS CAUTIONED ABOUT ON-LINE INSURANCE BROKER

Released on September 5, 2003

The Superintendent of Insurance and the Insurance Councils of Saskatchewan are advising Saskatchewan residents to be careful about purchasing insurance through www.quickeasyinsure.com.

Consumers are advised that they are not dealing with a licensed Canadian entity. Consumers who send money or provide a credit card number to Quick Easy Insure will likely have no chance of recovering their money in the event the insurance product is not provided as advertised. Further, providing personal information such as a social insurance number or banking information may increase the chance for identity theft.

The company purports to be a Regina-based brokerage operated by Kenneth and Laura Chueyski, but the registrant for the site is located in St. Petersburg, Russia. The Insurance Council records show no license, for either Chueyski or Quick Easy Insure that would permit them to act as agents, in the sale of any class of insurance within the province.

The web-site states that Quick Easy Insure is able to provide insurance from one of the many licensed insurance companies in Canada that they represent. The Insurance Councils are contacting life insurance companies to ask if they have any contracts with Quick Easy Insure, and early indications are that the life insurance company logos used by Quick Easy Insure have not been authorized for use by their owners.
