GOVERNMENT FUNDS INDIAN HEAD SCHOOL UPGRADE

Released on October 8, 2003

Students, teachers and parents of Indian Head High School will be pleased to know their school is slotted to receive a major upgrade. The Government of Saskatchewan today announced approximately $760,000 to upgrade the heating and ventilation system in the school.

"The Indian Head project is part of this government's long-term, province-wide strategy for capital funding, " Learning Minister Judy Junor said. "School capital projects remain a priority for this government and today's announcement demonstrates our commitment to ensure all Saskatchewan students have a modern, well-equipped learning environment."

"Indian Head High School has served students very well over the years and with the completion of this project it will continue to do so for many years to come," Junor said. "A significant need for infrastructure investment has been determined and the Government of Saskatchewan has responded."

"We are very proud of our school and delighted to receive funding from Saskatchewan Learning for this project," said Larry Blenkin, chair of the Indian Head School Board. "Indian Head has had a number of upgrades over the years and with the completion of this project it will be a top-notch school."
