The Government of Saskatchewan is investing $547,000 on an addition and renovations to two Regina schools."We are investing in schools, in students and in the future of Saskatchewan," Learning Minister Judy Junor said. "As part of our long-term K-12 capital strategy that allows appropriate lead time for school divisions to plan, these 2004-05 projects demonstrate our continued commitment to work with school divisions to provide quality education for our students."
The Regina Roman Catholic School Division will receive $350,000 to renovate Leboldus High School to better accommodate the performing arts. They will also receive $197,000 to upgrade the air handling system at Holy Rosary Community School. These projects will be cost-shared with the Regina Roman Catholic School Division.
These projects are part of the provincial government's investment of $4.2 million to improve the learning environment in 34 Saskatchewan schools. With these projects, the total commitment by government to K-12 capital projects announced so far this fall is over $30 million.
"These school improvement projects are part of the government's commitment to invest in modern, well-equipped learning facilities for Saskatchewan students," Junor said. "Investing in education enriches our communities and ensures a wide open future for Saskatchewan students."
