The Government of Saskatchewan is investing $720,000 on improvements to two schools in North Battleford."We are investing in schools, in students and in the future of Saskatchewan," Learning Minister Judy Junor said. "As part of our long-term K-12 capital strategy that allows appropriate lead time for school divisions to plan, these 2004-05 projects demonstrate our continued commitment to work with school divisions to provide quality education for our students."
The Battlefords School Division will receive $340,000 to upgrade the air handling system at North Battleford Comprehensive. The North West Roman Catholic School Division will receive $380,000 to renovate John Paul II Collegiate's special needs area. These projects will be cost-shared with the school divisions.
These projects are part of the provincial government's investment of $4.2 million to improve the learning environment in 34 Saskatchewan schools. With these projects, the total commitment by government to K-12 capital projects announced so far this fall is over $30 million.
"These school improvement projects are part of the government's commitment to invest in modern, well-equipped learning facilities for Saskatchewan students," Junor said. "Investing in education enriches our communities and ensures a wide open future for Saskatchewan students."
