PROVINCE'S COMMUNITY ECONOMIC DEVELOPERS TO MEET IN FEBRUARY

Released on October 3, 2003

Saskatchewan's community economic development leaders will once again be gathering for a major conference.

The fifth Connectivity conference will take place February 4th-6th, 2004 in Saskatoon with the theme "Creativity and Innovation in our Communities, Businesses and Attitudes".

"Connectivity has been a great information-sharing venue for all those who are successfully promoting local economic opportunities and supporting the work of entrepreneurs seeking to build businesses in Saskatchewan," Industry and Resources Minister Eric Cline said. "The conference and the groups and individuals who attend it are excellent examples of the partnerships that are building our economy."

Sponsors of this conference of economic development professionals and volunteers are The Saskatchewan Economic Developers Association (SEDA), Community Futures Partners of Saskatchewan and Saskatchewan Industry and Resources in collaboration with the province's 28 Regional Economic Development Authorities (REDAs).

More than 200 delegates from all parts of Saskatchewan attended Connectivity 4, with its theme of Community Resiliency in February 2003. Connectivity 4 received sponsorship support from both the federal and provincial governments.

For more information on Connectivity 5, contact conference coordinators by phone at (306) 751-1922 or via email at office_cfps1@sasktel.net.
