Students, instructors and many other guests today celebrated the official opening of the Kindersley Campus of Prairie West Regional College. The provincial government contributed $400,000 through Saskatchewan Learning to finance the project, which will provide a modern facility to meet programming needs in Kindersley for many years to come."Regional Colleges have been providing high quality education and training to people in rural and northern Saskatchewan for 30 years," Learning Minister Judy Junor said. "When we upgrade and improve our College facilities, we are investing in learners and in the future of Saskatchewan."
The renovations consolidate the College into one conveniently located facility in Kindersley and provide an increase in high quality programming space. The new facility's updated telephone and computer systems are equipped for video conferencing and internet access.
"We are very pleased with the renovations here at the Kindersley Campus," Prairie West Regional College CEO Bruce Probert said. "The improvements provide an enhanced learning environment for our students, and better teaching space for our instructors."
"This project is part of the government's commitment to invest in modern, well-equipped learning facilities for Saskatchewan learners. Our high quality education system and opportunities for graduates are just a few of the reasons why in Saskatchewan our future is wide open," Junor added.
