SASKPOWER PROVIDES FINANCIAL SUPPORT FOR KIN ENTERPRISES INC.

Released on March 24, 2003

SaskPower is supporting community development in Prince Albert through its contribution of $25,000 toward construction of Kin Enterprises Inc.'s new facility at 457 - 40th St E.

The new Kin Enterprises Inc. facility is the home of the Light Assembly/Activity Project; Day Program; and the Starlight Restaurant, which provides Meals on Wheels in Prince Albert. The facility's 23 staff serve 120 adults with disabilities. Kin Enterprises Inc. is the new name for the Prince Albert Community Workshop Society Inc.

"The construction of this new facility means there will be a safe and dignified place in Prince Albert for adults with disabilities to work, receive personal skills training or participate in activities," Intergovernmental and Aboriginal Affairs Minister Eldon Lautermilch said, on behalf of Crown Investments Corporation Minister Maynard Sonntag.

"As Saskatchewan's electric utility and largest Crown corporation, SaskPower has a commitment to nurture and contribute to the quality of life enjoyed by the people of Saskatchewan. Each year, SaskPower provides approximately $1 million in annual support to hundreds of events across Saskatchewan, as well as select capital projects," Lautermilch noted.

"Kin Enterprises Inc. is pleased to have SaskPower's support in bringing our 40th St. E. location one step closer to completion," Kin Enterprises Inc. Board Chair Gordon Balon said. "The facility will help improve the quality of life for area residents with challenging abilities, and provide meaningful work opportunities for employees and participants."

The new location replaces the former facilities at the Marjorie Wettergreen Centre on 1st Ave E., as well as the StarLight Restaurant on 16th St. W. The new facility will be officially opened in June 2003.
