The provincial government is investing $257,000 on renovations to two schools in Moose Jaw.
"We are investing in schools, in students, and in the future of Saskatchewan," Learning Minister Judy Junor said.
The Moose Jaw Catholic School Division will receive $221,000 to complete the 2002 mechanical and electrical upgrades at St. Michael Elementary School. The Moose Jaw Public School Division will receive $36,000 to complete roof replacement on the west wing of Palliser Heights Elementary School. These projects will be cost-shared with the Moose Jaw public and Catholic school divisions.
"With the $36 million in the Saskatchewan Learning K-12 capital budget, which includes $4.6 million from the Centenary Fund, approximately 140 K-12 school construction, renovation or upgrading projects will be funded in communities around the province this year," Junor said.
Additional projects in other school divisions throughout the province will be announced over the remainder of the fiscal year to March 31st, 2004.
"This school improvement project is part of the government's commitment to invest in modern, well-equipped learning facilities for Saskatchewan students," Junor said. "Investing in education enriches our communities and ensures a wide open future for Saskatchewan students."
