Released on February 27, 2003

Social Services Minister Glenn Hagel announced today Ms. Celine Tremblay, Mrs. Cecile Compagna and Mr. Guy Cyr, all members of the Debden Housing Authority Board, are being recognized for long term volunteer service to the community.

"These people are representative of the nearly 1,500 volunteers throughout the province who enable Social Services, through local agencies like the Debden Housing Authority, to provide affordable housing to low income families and seniors," Hagel said.

Compagna and Tremblay will receive pins and certificates recognizing their 10 years of service. Guy Cyr will be honoured for 15 years of service.

Debden Housing Authority Board members include: Yvette Bailey, Chairperson; Guy Cyr, Vice-Chair; Cecile Compagna, Secretary; Celine Tremblay, Director; and Elise Beaulac, Manager.

Saskatchewan's network of 280 housing authorities depends on nearly 1,500 volunteers throughout the province. The Building Independence initiative helps low-income families avoid welfare through supports that include a variety of housing services.
