NEW DIRECTOR APPOINTED TO SRC BOARD

Released on February 13, 2003

The Minister Responsible for the Saskatchewan Research Council (SRC), Eldon Lautermilch, and SRC Board Chair, Keith Hanson, announced today the appointment of Patsy Gilchrist to the SRC Board of Directors.

"As the province's premier technology organization, the SRC seeks leadership to help it stay on the leading edge," Lautermilch said. "The addition of Ms. Gilchrist is an excellent complement to the SRC Board."

Patsy Gilchrist's primary expertise is in the area of finance, specializing in financial reporting, budgeting, strategic planning, and capital asset control. She has worked for a number of major corporations, most recently, SaskEnergy. In addition to her expertise in finance she comes with a good understanding of the need for, and the importance of having, a strong applied research capacity in Saskatchewan like the SRC.

"Ms. Gilchrist's background and breadth of knowledge, not only with respect to finance, but also with respect to government processes, will be a great asset to the SRC Board," Hanson said. "We're very pleased with this appointment."
