CEO LEAVING SCN

Released on December 5, 2003

SCN Board of Directors Chair Diana Milenkovic announced today the Corporation's President and CEO, David Debono, will resign his position at the end of December, 2003.

"Mr. Debono has made a number of substantial contributions during his time leading SCN," Milenkovic said. "His decision to resign was a personal one, and it is with regret that the Board accepts his resignation."

Debono came to Regina from Toronto in August of 2001 to assume the role of President and CEO of SCN.

Under Debono's leadership, SCN has increased its focus on the Broadcast Network, which now boasts the highest percentage of regional productions in the network's 12-year history.

"I have enjoyed the challenges and opportunities of being part of such a dynamic organization," Debono said. "The enthusiasm and dedication of the SCN staff, Saskatchewan television viewers and our local film and video community made this decision a difficult one."

Debono plans to return to Ontario to pursue a doctoral degree and will also be providing consulting services to SCN and a number of broadcast and technology sector companies.

Effective January 1st, 2004, Ken Alecxe, will assume the role as the interim CEO and President of SCN. Ken brings a wealth of program and management experience from his time in various provincial and federal government departments.

SCN broadcasts on Saskatchewan's cable, wireless, digital and satellite television networks, and delivers a wide variety of engaging, thought-provoking programs that highlight the diverse interests of Saskatchewan people.
