In the next month more than 400 Saskatchewan citizens will receive GoldenJubilee medals in nine presentation ceremonies throughout the province with
Lieutenant Governor Lynda Haverstock.
The commemorative medal was created to mark the Golden Jubilee of Queen
Elizabeth II's accession to the throne as Queen of Canada.
The medal is presented to recognize a person's significant achievement or
distinguished service to their fellow citizens, their communities or to
Canada. Recipients were selected based on the recommendation of national
and provincial non-governmental organizations; lieutenant governors and
territorial commissioners; provincial and territorial governments; senators
or members of Parliament.
Today the Lieutenant Governor presented Golden Jubilee Medals to recipients
in Prince Albert. Other presentations will take place in the following
locations:
November 13th in Saskatoon
November 14th in Regina
November 15th in Regina
