PREMIER LAUNCHES MAJOR ATTITUDE CAMPAIGN

Released on November 4, 2002

It's time to celebrate Saskatchewan – both our accomplishments and our

prospects. And it's time we start spreading the good news.

That was the message from Premier Lorne Calvert today as he launched The

Future is Wide Open, an extensive three-year marketing campaign aimed at

improving Saskatchewan's image.

"Saskatchewan is a great place to live, learn, work, play and do business,"

Calvert said. "And it's time we stand tall for our province and let the

rest of Canada know what a great place this is. It's time to rise above

our modesty and celebrate Saskatchewan."

The Future is Wide Open campaign is part of the provincial government's on-

going commitment to improving attitudes about the province and promoting

business and investment in Saskatchewan. The campaign will include an in-

province multi-media campaign designed to rekindle pride and an out-of-

province campaign that focuses on investment attraction and image

building. Radio and television stations across the province will partner

on the campaign along with Tourism Saskatchewan.

In addition to broadcast and print advertising, the campaign will include a

Website (www.wideopenfuture.ca); a toll-free line (1-866-SaskHas);

development of a Saskatchewan brand and high profile advertising out of

province. In addition, the province will be announcing details of contests

relating to the campaign early in the new year.

"Negative attitudes have an economic consequence," Premier Calvert

stated. "And, it's a proven fact that talking about success and trumpeting

success, leads to more success. The success that builds businesses, that

builds families, that builds a province. That's what this campaign is all

about."

"Saskatchewan celebrates its Centennial in 2005 and the province is heading

into its second century with exciting prospects," Calvert said. "We have

gained economic momentum with increased exploration and development in the

oil and gas industry; technological advancements like the Synchrotron

project, and development of an ethanol industry. And last month, we

reached record employment levels."

"We've got great businesses, great people, and a future that's wide open.

Let's tell the world."
