SESSION TO RESUME ON DECEMBER 9TH

Released on November 1, 2002

Premier Lorne Calvert announced today that in agreement with the

opposition, the Legislature will resume on Monday, December 9th for an

eight-day sitting.

Premier Calvert says during the session members will consider the final

report from the Constituency Boundaries Commission.

"A brief session in December will allow members to debate and explore

issues important to Saskatchewan people and allow us to make legislative

changes or enact new legislation if needed," Calvert said.

"Our main task will be to review the work of the Constituency Boundaries

Commission, as it is my intent that the new set of boundaries will be used

for the next provincial election. The Kyoto Protocol is also top of mind

for many Saskatchewan people, so I look forward to the debate around

Saskatchewan's role in this issue."
