Released on January 28, 2002

Premier Lorne Calvert is being introduced to North America's financial

community in New York, Montreal and Toronto this week.

This is Premier Calvert's first meeting with the financial community since

becoming premier. Calvert is meeting with representatives of CIBC World

Markets, Moody's Investors Service, National Bank, RBC Capital

Markets/Royal Bank, Bank of Montreal/BMO Nesbitt, Scotia Capital/Scotia

Bank, TD Securities/TD Bank and financing syndicate managers during his

five-day trip. The premier will also speak at a Canadian Society of New

York meeting.

"Our record of successful financial management over the last decade

resulted in strong credit ratings from the financial community," Calvert

said. "During this trip we will promote Saskatchewan as a good place to

invest and reaffirm why these positive credit ratings are well deserved."

Discussions will focus on economic and capital market outlooks, financing

opportunities and Saskatchewan's outlook for a growing economy, balanced

budget, declining debt load and competitive tax regime added Calvert.
