MINDS EYE TO PRODUCE SCI-FI SERIES

Saskatchewan-based motion picture company Minds Eye Pictures has signed a

Memorandum of Understanding worth $35 million with its new co-production

partner, H5B5 of Germany.



Minds Eye and H5B5 Media AG have agreed to a 50/50 co-production of the sci-

fi adventure series Ice Planet. H5B5 Media's subsidiary company, Circles &

Lines, will oversee and create all the visual effects for the series.



The first 22 episodes will be produced in Canada and Germany.



"This is an exciting project and partnership," Minds Eye CEO and Executive

Producer Kevin DeWalt said. "It's a great balance of talent and ability

between our company, Minds Eye Pictures, and that of our German partners at

H5B5 and Circles & Lines."



For the Canadian component of the shoot the series is destined for the new

Saskatchewan Sound Stage Complex in Regina and may begin shooting as early

as fall 2002.



The Saskatchewan Sound Stage Complex, located at College Avenue and Broad

Street, will house four new stages and a production services area,

totalling 85,000 square feet.



"This deal is good news for Saskatchewan's film and television industry,"

Premier Lorne Calvert said. "This project will generate as many as 350

jobs and $10.5 million spent on industry services for Saskatchewan."



Minds Eye Pictures and H5B5 will share business and creative control over

the entire series which is budgeted at more than $1 million (US) per

episode.
