Christmas is a time for families, festivities and holiday fun. It's a timefor tradition, a time for nostalgia, but most importantly, a time to
celebrate the birth of Christ.
For it is in this celebration of God's gift to the world - a precious baby
boy, God's only son - that we are reminded of the true meaning of
Christmas. Peace on earth and goodwill toward all men.
The gifts of peace, joy, hope and love shared in the Christmas Story and so
readily spoken of at Christmas, should not be saved for the holiday season,
but freely given throughout the year
As we gather together as families, as friends and neighbors, let's take
time to give thanks for those gifts and the blessings we have received
during the year, and also for those gifts we have been able to give in
return.
It is important to experience the joy of caring and sharing with others
because it is through this experience that we come to know the spirit of
Christmas.
This holiday season, thousands of community organizations and volunteers
will give of themselves to help those in need.
This unprecedented spirit of volunteerism that exists in Saskatchewan, not
only at Christmas time but also throughout the year, makes it a great
province in which to live and raise a family.
Saskatchewan people have much to be thankful for and much to share.
On behalf of my wife Gail, my children, and all of the Saskatchewan Party
MLAs, I extend you and your family warm wishes for a safe holiday season,
and a healthy and prosperous New Year.
May happiness be yours this holiday season and throughout 2003.
