CASINO MOOSE JAW GRAND OPENING

Released on August 29, 2002

Casino Moose Jaw, located across the street from the Temple Gardens Mineral

Spa, will have its official opening at 3:00 pm, September 6th, 2002.

"I invite the public to see the new facility. It compliments the theme of

historical tourism already developed by such attractions as the Tunnels of

Moose Jaw, the Western Development Museum, and restoration of River Street

and the downtown core," Minister Responsible for the Saskatchewan Gaming

Corporation Glenn Hagel said.

"Casino Moose Jaw will draw tourists to an already impressive list of

attractions and businesses in downtown Moose Jaw," Hagel added. "Casino

Moose Jaw will be working with Casino Regina to a help create a tourism

corridor between the two cities to draw visitors to the region and the

province."

The 12,000 square foot casino, which compliments the expansion of The

Temple Gardens Mineral Spa, has been strongly supported by the City of

Moose Jaw and business and community groups.

Casino Moose Jaw is connected to the expanded portion of the spa and

accessible via the spa pedway to the original building.

The total capital investment for Casino Moose Jaw is $12.5 million,

including building costs of $8.5 million and equipment costs of $4 million.

Casino Moose Jaw will employ about 100 people, making it one of Moose Jaw's

ten largest employers.

The casino was announced in July 2001 and has been completed on schedule to

be in place for Moose Jaw's centennial celebrations in 2003.
