NEW LIQUOR STORE OPENS AT REGINA AIRPORT

Released on January 24, 2001

Air travellers now have convenient access to a new liquor store at the Regina

Airport.

Located in a kiosk on the second level of the airport building, the new

Saskatchewan Liquor and Gaming Authority store offers a variety of liquors,

liqueurs, specialty beer and wines to the travelling public. The store's hours

are also well-suited to its location, with operations from 6:30 a.m. until 9

p.m., Monday to Friday, and 6:30 a.m. until 6:30 p.m. Saturday.

"We are pleased to support the Regina Airport in its efforts to continue

modernizing and enhancing customer services for its travellers," Minister

Responsible for the Saskatchewan Liquor and Gaming Authority Doreen Hamilton

said. "This pilot project will determine whether Saskatchewan travellers want

an airport liquor store location, which is quite common in other provinces."

The 280 square-foot store was officially opened today, although it began

operation in December. It offers more than 200 fine wine and spirit products

to customers.
