ROYAL VISIT BOOKLET PUBLISHED

Released on December 27, 2001

His Royal Highness The Prince of Wales thrilled thousands of Saskatchewan

residents during his three-day visit to the province in April.

Now, a colourful 44-page booklet, published by the Government of

Saskatchewan and recently launched by Provincial Secretary Judy Junor,

chronicles the visit. The booklet, 'Saskatchewan Royal Reflections/

Réflexions royales sur la Saskatchewan,' also contains information on

Canada's constitutional monarchy.

The Prince of Wales has contributed a foreword.

"Royal Reflections captures the love and respect Saskatchewan people have

for the Heir to the Throne and the excitement we felt during his visit,"

Junor said.

Lieutenant Governor Lynda Haverstock accepted the first official booklet as

part of the ceremonies launching Saskatchewan's program in honour of the

Golden Jubilee of Queen Elizabeth II.

The booklet is published in both of Canada's official languages, with

financial assistance from the federal Department of Canadian Heritage.

"I have received very enthusiastic comments about Royal Reflections," Junor

said. "Its colourful photos and the wealth of information it includes make

the booklet an invaluable reference for people who want to learn more about

our heritage and the monarchy."

Copies will be distributed to schools, libraries and other organizations

over the next several weeks. Total cost of the 10,000 booklets is about

$27,000 - cost shared equally between the federal Department of Canadian

Heritage and the province.
