This is the final recreation report for the summer season. There are stillmany things to do even if the summer programs have come to an end.
Surrounded by natural beauty and a good variety of outdoor activities,
Saskatchewan's Provincial parks are a perfect destination for an end-of-
summer or early fall getaway. The lakes are filled with a variety of fish
and there are many trails to explore.
Some provincial parks campgrounds will be open until after the September
long weekend, but may not have water or power hookup. Please call ahead to
see what services are available before heading out. Cypress Hills
Interprovincial Park is hosting a Great Vacation Treasure Hunt on September
2 and Rowan's Ravine is hosting the Last Mountain Fall Walleye Classic on
September 8 and 9.
Why not hold your next convention or meeting in a picturesque, natural
setting? Excellent conference facilities are available at Cypress Hills,
Duck Mountain, Greenwater Lake, Moose Mountain and The Battlefords
provincial parks.
There is a complete fire ban in Cypress Hills Interprovincial Park. Fire
hazard is moderate at Duck Mountain and Narrow Hills and Makwa Lake is
reporting a low fire hazard.
Many parks still have good angling opportunities. Duck Mountain Provincial
Park is reporting excellent fishing.
