Luther College in Regina is enhancing the technology it uses for on-linetraining and student services, thanks to a $45,000 investment by the provincial
government.
"Strengthening our public institutions is one of the best ways we can celebrate
Saskatchewan's centennial," Post-Secondary Education and Skills Training
Minister Glenn Hagel said. "Saskatchewan people have always placed a high value
on education. The knowledge and skills of our graduates will build our future."
"Luther College is thankful for the assistance of the Saskatchewan government,"
Luther College President Dr. Richard Hordern said. "This grant will help
Luther expand and enhance its classroom technology to better offer our students
a high quality education while maintaining small class sizes and a personalized
learning environment. The technology will also assist us in retaining and
improving the international awareness of our students and faculty."
The funding is from the Centenary Capital Fund, announced in this year's budget
to leave a legacy of Saskatchewan's Centennial for future generations. Leading
up to the centennial celebrations in 2005, the Saskatchewan Government is
funding projects that support key infrastructure needs in the post-secondary
education and skills training sector.
