SASKPOWER SALUTES HUMBOLDT SUPPLIER

Released on November 25, 1999

A Humboldt business is reaping the benefits of its long-term partnership with

SaskPower.

SaskPower has chosen Commercial Industrial Manufacturing (CIM) to receive its

Power of Business award. SaskPower introduced the award to recognize the

important role local firms play in the corporation's success.

CIM is a metal fabricating company that manufactures and sells a diverse range

of products, from grain to refuse containers. Since it opened in 1985, it has

supplied SaskPower with over 12,000 street light poles.

Crown Investments Corporation Minister John Nilson presented the award today to

Henry Hauber, CIM owner and president.

"The award acknowledges the hard work, superior product and dependability CIM

has provided SaskPower over the years," Nilson said. "This partnership is also

just another example of the corporation's strong commitment to supporting

Saskatchewan companies."

SaskPower averages over 80 per cent of its purchases from local firms and over

the last 15 years has purchased over $3.2 billion in goods and services from

Saskatchewan suppliers.

"In the beginning, our partnership with SaskPower gave us the stability to get

started," Hauber said. "Today, through continued support, they have proven to

be a contributing factor to our success."

CIM employs 37 people at its Humboldt plant and a recent 17,000 square foot

expansion of office and manufacturing space boosted its total square footage to

over 48,000 square feet.
