Highways and Transportation Minister Judy Bradley has announced six

projects in central Saskatchewan as part of the $234.6 million

investment announced in the provincial budget for improving our roads

and highways.

"We have been steadily increasing our budget to enable us to undertake

more construction and preservation projects right across

Saskatchewan," Bradley said.

Highway projects in central Saskatchewan include:

Highway 3 - grading and paving at Carrot River East Access Road

(2.6 km);

Highway 20 - complete grading and paving North of Humboldt to

Pilger (21.1 km);

Highway 3 - resurfacing Prairie River to 9 km West (9.7 km);

Highway 2 - resurfacing Wakaw North (10.9 km);

Highway 38 - resurfacing North of Greenwater Park (12.6 km); and

Highway 38 - spot improvements Kuroki North (4.6 km).

Further announcements will be made as construction and major

preservation projects are tendered, project costs are determined and

as start dates and timing of projects are set.

"We will have a very busy construction season as we improve and

repair our roads and highways," Bradley said. "With so much

activity across the province this summer, people are sure to

travel through construction and maintenance zones or Orange Zones

on our highways. We want a safe construction season as well as a

productive one."
