PAVING PROJECT AWARDED ON HIGHWAY 10

Released on June 3, 1999

Highways and Transportation Minister Judy Bradley today announced a

12.8 km paving project on Highway 10 between Wroxton and Tonkin.

"This $771,000 project is expected to start the beginning of June and

is planned for completion by mid July, 1999," Bradley said. "An

estimated 43 jobs will be used to complete the project."

Potzus Construction Ltd. was awarded the contract for the paving

project as the lowest of five bidders. The Highway 10 project will be

done from 13 km west of Wroxton to 25.9 km at Tonkin for a total

distance of 12.8 km. The $771,000 project cost includes department-supplied materials and services.

"A $15 million increase in the department's budget this year means a

very busy construction season and crews will be working hard to

improve and repair Saskatchewan roads and highways," Bradley said.

"This work demonstrates our commitment to preserving this important

piece of highway in Central Saskatchewan."
