Highway 1 near Herbert will soon provide a smoother ride for motoriststravelling west bound on the Trans Canada. A $1.4 million paving
project is scheduled to begin on 9.5 km east and west of Herbert in
mid-August.
"These key links are crucial to the social well-being and the economic
viability of residents and communities across the province," Highways
and Transportation Minister Judy Bradley said.
The project, awarded to ASL Paving Ltd. of Saskatoon, will start 2.2
km east of Herbert and run 7.2 km west of town. Twenty five people
will be hired to for the work that should be finished by the end of
September.
Bradley adds the addition of $15 million to this year's budget
demonstrates the province's commitment to maintaining our road and
highway network.
