PAVING PROJECT AWARDED ON HIGHWAY 11

Released on April 29, 1999

Highways and Transportation Minister Judy Bradley today announced a

12.3 km paving project on Highway No. 11 near Hanley.



"This $897,000 project is expected to start in mid May and is planned

for completion in early June, 1999," Bradley said. "An estimated 12

jobs will be used in completing the project."



Anderson Rental and Paving Ltd. was awarded the contract for the

paving project as the lowest of five bidders. The paving project will

be done on the south bound lanes form 9.6 km north of Hanley to 2.6 km

south of Hanley for a total distance of 12.3 km. The $897,000 project

cost includes department-supplied materials and services.



"The department budget increased by $15 million this year so our

construction season continues to get busier and busier," Bradley said.



"The increased funding demonstrates our commitment to preserving our

investment in the Saskatchewan highway system."
