Highways and Transportation Minister Judy Bradley today announced a4.6 km paving project on Highway 1 east of Ernfold.
"This $816,000 project is expected to start in mid June and is planned
for completion in early July, 1999," Bradley said. "An estimated 30
jobs will be used to compete the project."
Anderson Rental and Paving Ltd. was awarded the contract for the
paving project as the lowest of six bidders. The Highway 1 project
will be done on the east bound lanes from Ernfold to 4.6 km east of
Ernfold for a total distance of 4.6 km. The $816,000 project cost
includes department-supplied materials and services.
"A $15 million increase in the department's budget this year means a
very busy construction season and crews will be working hard to
improve and repair Saskatchewan roads and highways," Bradley said.
"The increased funding demonstrates our commitment to preserving our
investment in the Saskatchewan highway system."
