Released on September 24, 1998
Highways and Transportation Minister Judy Bradley today announced a
33.6 km paving project east of Lloydminster valued at $4.2 million, on
Highway No. 303 beginning at its junction with Highway No. 21 and
proceeding to the west.
"Highway work is still going on right across the province as we
continue working to meet our $2.5 billion over 10 years commitment to
improve our highways," Bradley said.
Potzus Construction was awarded the contract as the lowest of eight
bidders. An estimated 80 people will be employed on the project.
Gravel crushing for the project is expected to begin on September 25.
The project will begin on the road, weather permitting, in early
October and is expected to be completed in mid October, 1999.
"Our $219 million department budget has enabled us to enjoy a busy
construction and maintenance season," Bradley said. "I urge people to
continue using caution in orange zones and slow to 60 km/h."
