IMPROVEMENT PROJECTS UNDERWAY ON SASKATCHEWAN HIGHWAYS

Released on May 13, 1998

Highways and Transportation Minister Judy Bradley is alerting

motorists to use caution as they encounter maintenance or construction

projects this busy road construction season.

"For the first time in recent years, contractors have been able to get

earlier starts than anticipated on highway work," Bradley said. "Work

is being completed on projects from the last construction season and

new work from this year's $219 million department budget is also

getting underway."

Work is underway on this project in your area:

Grading and paving are being done on Highway No. 368 from the

Junction of Highway No. 5 to Grid No. 756 for a total distance of

14.8 km. Dallas Construction Ltd. began work this year in early

May on the $3.1 million project which is planned for completion

by October 1998.

"We are working hard to improve Saskatchewan highways. This summer

you will see many construction zones across the province and I urge

people to drive carefully and follow the 60 km speed limit in those

Orange Zones," Bradley said.
