Health Minister Clay Serby today announced approval in principle for arenovation project at the Royal University Hospital in Saskatoon. The
project will make it easier for individuals to access care by
consolidating almost all out-patient services on the hospital's main
floor. Currently services like the pre-admission clinic, day surgery
admission offices and patient education are located at various sites
throughout the hospital. The renovation project will improve care and
create an enhanced environment for health care providers and patients.
"We are investing in quality health services," Serby said. "The
provincial contribution for this project will be determined once
agreements are finalized between Saskatoon Health District and
Saskatchewan Health."
Capital proposals are reviewed by a Capital Evaluation Committee that
includes staff from Saskatchewan Health and representatives of health
districts.
This year's provincial capital budget is $44.9 million, including
spending on previously announced and newly approved projects.
