Health Minister Clay Serby today announced that the BattlefordsDistrict Health Board has received approval to proceed with planning
for regeneration of the Battlefords District Care Centre in
Battleford. The renovation will include upgrading resident care areas
and support services to improve overall delivery of care and enhance
the living environment for residents. The existing building will also
be upgraded to meet new building and fire code requirements.
"We are investing in quality health services," Serby said. "This
approval will allow the district to initiate local planning for the
regeneration of this facility."
Capital proposals are reviewed by a Capital Evaluation Committee that
includes staff from Saskatchewan Health and representatives of health
districts.
This year's capital budget is $44.9 million, including spending on
previously announced and newly approved projects.
