Health Minister Clay Serby today announced that the North CentralDistrict Health Board has received approval to proceed with planning
for replacement of the Parkland Care Centre in Melfort. The project
will improve overall delivery of care and enhance the living
environment for residents. The new facility will meet new building
and fire code requirements.
"We are investing in quality health services," Serby said. "This
approval will allow the district to initiate local planning for the
replacement of the existing facility."
Capital proposals are reviewed by a Capital Evaluation Committee that
includes staff from Saskatchewan Health and representatives of health
districts.
This year's capital budget is $44.9 million, including spending on
previously announced and newly approved projects.
