PAVING ON HIGHWAY NO. 20 ANNOUNCED

Released on June 19, 1998

Highways and Transportation Minister Judy Bradley today announced

$1.2 million will be invested in a 14.6 km paving project on Highway

No. 20 from Nokomis to Lockwood.

"We are working hard with this year's $219 million department budget

to improve the highways in this area and right across our province,"

Bradley said.

G.W. Construction Ltd. was awarded the contract as the lowest of 11

bidders. An estimated 35 jobs will be used in completion of the

project. Work is scheduled to start the week of June 22, 1998 and is

planned for completion by mid September 1998.

"In this busy construction season, we urge people to be patient and

use extra caution in the many construction and maintenance zones on

our highways," Bradley said. "Please remember the speed limit is

60 km in those zones."
