Health Minister Clay Serby today announced approval in principle forupgrading at the Victoria Hospital in Prince Albert. The project
involves upgrading the Victoria Hospital tower, including renovations
to three levels of inpatient wards and nursing support areas. The
project will also upgrade the exterior envelope of the tower for
building safety and energy efficiency purposes, as well as fire safety
improvements.
"We are investing in quality health services," Serby said. "The
provincial contribution for these projects will be determined once
agreements are finalized between the Prince Albert Health District and
Saskatchewan Health."
Capital proposals are reviewed by a Capital Evaluation Committee that
includes staff from Saskatchewan Health and representatives of health
districts.
This year's capital budget is $44.9 million, including spending on
previously announced and newly approved projects.
