CASINO FUNDS TO PROVIDE SUPPORT TO YOUTH IN CARROT RIVER

Released on July 28, 1998

Andy Renaud, MLA for Carrot River Valley, today announced on behalf of

Municipal Government Minister Carol Teichrob that the Carrot River and

District Recreation Board received $10,000 in casino profits through

the Associated Entities Fund for the Carrot River Active Youth

Project.

"The province established the Associated Entities Fund to distribute a

portion of casino profits for the benefit of Saskatchewan people,"

Renaud said. "Since the beginning of 1997 nearly $3 million in casino

profits have been distributed throughout Saskatchewan for programs

that support children, youth and families."

The Carrot River Active Youth organization will use the grant to put

on summer recreation for young people. Some of the activities the

group will be offering include cooking/nutrition sessions, fitness

sessions with a qualified instructor, survival camp, bowling,

swimming, and career awareness.

Associated Entities Fund receives a portion of the profits from Casino

Regina, the Gold Eagle Casino, North Battleford, the Northern Lights

Casino, Prince Albert and the Painted Hand Casino, Yorkton.
